What Is Can Have?
It’s really simple. You want something; and your friends and family help pitch in. It’s a social activity and a community thing!
You see gift giving is a two sided coin. You have the gift recipient and you have the giver. It’s about people coming together. When people pitch in for a gift everyone shares in the excitement. The recipient gets what they really want. You give what you can, not something you think is cool, appropriate, or even something you want. What’s more, there are no agonizing decisions to make, no long lines, bargain hunting, last-minute sales, or gift cards to lose. Not only are the gift givers and recipients making a connection, the gift givers also have the opportunity to connect with one another in a meaningful way!
How Does It Work?
To get started you must have a Facebook account. Go to our super duper Facebook Can Have Gifts Application and create your Can Have Gift List. Upload a photo of your gift, list its dollar amount, and give yourself a reasonable deadline to reach your funding goal. Next share your list with your friends. Once your goal is reached, you get the cash to purchase the item(s) you want.
Who is it For?
It’s for everyone. Individuals, like you and me and organizations and groups big and small who need some help getting what they want by raising funds.
For example, my little nephew Johny wants the latest Play Station game for his birthday. So…little Johny goes to Can Have Gifts and makes his list. Aunt Sally from Indianapolis, Uncle Bob who lives Hoboken, NJ, his friend Rickey who lives down the block, and even his sister Candy pitch in what they can. Little Johnny reaches his goal right before he turns 12. Johny and Rickey play for hours the day after his party.
